About Tara's Tiny Footprints

We require assistance with fundraising to make the home feotal heart rate monitoring program available in Ireland. This is a program available to mothers who suffered a stillbirth due to an umbilical cord accident during a previous pregnancy. In circumstances where cord compression is identified within this group the ongoing monitoring can begin from 30 weeks gestation. The mother attaches the monitor to record the baby’s heart rate just before she goes to bed (the at risk period), the information is then fed by internet to Dr. Jason Collins who reviews the heart rate patterns and contacts the mother if he discovers an abnormality. This information is also sent to the mother’s obstetrician. All money raised will cover the costs for suitable candidates to use the monitoring program in Ireland. Monitors cost approx $4,000 (€2,835) each.
